Danny DeVito, Dylan Walsh and Justin Long to Star in Hart Bochner Comedy "One Part Sugar" from Kindred Media Group
Robin Bissell and Clifford Werber to produce indie picture set in Trona, CA.
West Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) May 3, 2006 -- Kindred Media Group announced today that it has begun production on writer-director Hart Bochner's "One Part Sugar," the second film to be financed at the production stage by Kindred.
Produced by Robin Bissell ("Seabiscuit, Pleasantville") and Clifford Werber ("A Cinderella Story"), "One Part Sugar" is a comedic fable that tells the story of Ray Tuckby who has stayed in the once idyllic, now decrepit and barren town of Trona in order to remain near the unrequited love of his youth. The town is run by a teenage drug and real estate kingpin, and when a stranger comes to Trona with dreams of turning the town around, Ray and his friends team up to defeat the young thugs and return Trona to its original splendor.
"One Part Sugar" began production in March, 2006, and stars Danny DeVito, Dylan Walsh ("Nip/Tuck"), Justin Long ("The Break-Up", "Accepted", "Dodgeball"), Jonah Hill ("Evan Almighty", "Accepted"), Anika Noni Rose (the upcoming "Dreamgirls"), Tracy Middendorf ("24", "The Practice"), Melissa McCarthy ("Gilmore Girls"), and Katey Sagal ("Married With Children").
Bochner is known for having previously directed films such as "High School High" and "PCU" and, as an actor, has starred in over 30 films, including "Die Hard", "Apartment Zero", and "War and Remembrance".
Executive Producers on the film include Hart Bochner, Richard Klubeck, Jeffrey D.
Erb, Johnathan Sachar, Joe Nicolo, and Joe Amodei.
Hart Sharp Video has strategically combined forces with Kindred Media Group on One Part Sugar, becoming equity investors in the film with a right of first negotiation for its domestic distribution. Ultimately, they, together with the film's producers, will determine the best available means to maximize the film's exploitation in the marketplace.
